Have you ever felt paralyzed by nerves before a big event? Does your heart race, your palms sweat and your stomach flutter?

That nervous energy can feel overwhelming, but here’s the good news: it doesn’t have to hold you back.

Your body doesn’t know the difference between being anxious and being excited—it’s all about how you interpret those signals. By reframing fear as excitement, you can harness that nervous energy and turn it into positive momentum 🚀

Reframe the narrative

When I prepare for a big speech or workshop, I always feel nervous beforehand—even after doing this countless times. But I’ve learned to shift my perspective.

💡 Instead of thinking, I have to speak here, I remind myself, I get to speak here. This simple mindset shift transforms pressure into gratitude and nerves into enthusiasm

Recently, I gave a 10-minute pitch to about 40 business owners in my networking group 🎤 I won’t lie—I was nervous! But I reminded myself that this was an incredible opportunity to share my message, connect with others, and grow. That shift turned my fear into a driving force that helped me deliver with energy and confidence.

Tips to reduce your anxiety

😤 Breathe deeply: focused breathing calms your nervous system. Try inhaling for four counts, holding for four, and exhaling for four to ground yourself before speaking.

😍 Visualize success: picture yourself nailing your presentation or speech. Visualizing a positive outcome can help reduce fear and build confidence.

🏃🏽‍♀️‍➡️ Embrace movement: use that nervous energy! Before your event, take a brisk walk, stretch, or shake out your hands to release tension.

🙏🏽 Practice gratitude: reflect on why you’re there and the value you bring. Gratitude replaces fear with purpose.

📄 Prepare thoroughly: confidence grows with preparation. Knowing your material allows you to focus on connection rather than perfection.

The power of public speaking

Public speaking is a skill that opens doors, builds credibility, and helps you connect with others on a deeper level.

And here’s the best part: it’s learnable. With practice and a few mindset shifts, you can transform your nerves into excitement and step confidently into any spotlight

So the next time you feel nervous, remember this: it’s a sign you care. And that energy? It’s your superpower.

    Lots of love,
