I had the privilege of leading a workshop called Lead Boldly: Practical Tools to Build Confidence and Presence for the Canadian Women in Venture Capital.
It was hosted in the stunning TELUS Garden rooftop in downtown Vancouver — the perfect setting for an evening of growth, reflection, and connection.

As the session began, I asked a powerful question:
💭 “What would be possible in your life if you had more confidence?”
The answers came quickly:
✨ “I would take more risks.”
✨ “I would speak up more.”
✨ “I would say no.”
These statements echoed around the room, and you could feel the energy shift as the women realized they weren’t alone.
We journaled. We discussed. We shared insights in small groups. Then, each group chose a spokesperson to present their reflections back to the room.
The honesty and vulnerability moved me deeply ❤️
At the end of the evening, one woman came up to me and said quietly:
“This session was exactly what I needed. Last night, I broke down and told my husband that I don’t feel confident in any area of my life.”
That moment reminded me why I do this work. Because confidence isn’t something you’re born with. It’s something you build.
Here’s my definition:
💡 Confidence is your willingness to try, to take action, and to treat yourself with compassion when you fail.
Confidence is built through action. Each time you step outside your comfort zone — speak up, ask for what you need, take that risk — you rewire your brain to believe you can.
And when you do it alongside other women cheering you on? That’s where the magic happens.
That’s the power of coaching and community.
If you’re ready to take your next bold step, I’d love for you to join my new group coaching community, the Women in Tech Rising Collective.

Lots of love,
-Anna
