Recently, a fellow female entrepreneur in my mastermind group said something that really stuck with me:

“I don’t know how mothers working 9-5 do it. I feel so lucky to have my flexible schedule.”

As a mother and entrepreneur, I felt that deep in my bones. Because, even with flexibility, balancing motherhood and a career is one of the hardest juggling acts out there.

For moms working traditional full-time roles—especially in demanding fields like tech—it can feel like an impossible equation:

💼 Ambition + 👩‍👧‍👦 Family + 🧠 Mental load + ⏳ Not enough hours in the day

That’s why I want to tie this message to something bigger: Women in Tech Day on April 4—a global celebration of women and allies in the tech industry.

Women hold just 28% of tech jobs, and many of them are also mothers carrying the mental load of home life, school pickups, and emotional labor—while leading teams, shipping products, and innovating behind the scenes.

Many of my coaching clients are brilliant, driven women in tech who are also raising kids. They care deeply about their careers and their kids. And like so many of us, they struggle with guilt—am I doing enough at work? Am I doing enough at home? Am I even taking care of myself at all?

Here’s the truth: You’re not alone. And you’re doing better than you think ❤️

One of the most powerful things coaching provides is a safe space to pause, reflect, and recalibrate. We work together to reframe perfectionism, identify core values, build confidence, and create a more sustainable version of success.

Here are a few strategies I often share with my working mom clients:

🕐 Start with your mornings – one of my clients wakes up at 5:30 AM to enjoy 30 quiet minutes before her house wakes up. She journals, stretches, and drinks her coffee in peace. That small ritual sets the tone for her entire day.

📦 Delegate at home – from hiring a cleaner to sharing school duties with a partner to teaching kids to pitch in—you do not have to do everything yourself. Delegating creates more space for you to show up with energy where it matters most.

📅 Time-block your priorities – self-care isn’t selfish. Block time for workouts, solo walks, or creative work the same way you’d schedule a business meeting. If it’s not on the calendar, it won’t happen.

🤝 Ask for help – whether it’s from your team, your partner, a coach, or your community, help isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s the foundation of resilience.

💛 Give yourself credit – seriously. Pause right now and write down everything you did in the last 48 hours. You are doing so much.
