Is friendship a priority in your life? Do you regularly connect with friends, or are you too busy juggling work and family to make time for socializing?

🚨 Friendship is vital to your mental health. Friends bring you support, joy, and fun—things that are often overlooked when life gets hectic.

Many of my clients, like me, have busy schedules that leave little room for meaningful connection. And yet, time and again, the theme of longing for more connection with friends comes up in my coaching sessions.

✅ A typical action item? Schedule coffee with a friend.

Why friendship matters

Leaning on your friends for support helps you manage stress and navigate life’s challenges. By creating a social buffer of friends, family, and close work peers, you can build resilience and cope better when life gets tough ❤️

📃 Take a moment to inventory the people in your life: Who supports you in different ways, and how can you nurture those relationships?

For me, friendships have been a lifeline as I navigate single parenthood, the online dating scene, and build my coaching business 🙏🏽

Recently, on a kid-free weekend, I scheduled brunch with one friend and dinner with another. Those intentional moments of connection filled my bucket and reminded me of the joy friendship brings 😊

✨ And speaking of joy—one of my favorite friendship memories from the past year was attending the Taylor Swift concert with my bestie in December. Singing our hearts out together created a memory I’ll treasure forever.

How to prioritize friendship

✔️ Make time: schedule coffee, a walk, or even a quick call with a friend. Small efforts go a long way.

✔️ Reassess your circle: as Mel Robbins says, friendships can be for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. It’s OK to let go of friendships that no longer serve you and make space for new connections.

✔️ Invest in joy: friends make life meaningful. You’ll always get back more than you put into those relationships.

Your challenge

Are you too busy or too tired to make time for friends? I challenge you to reach out to a friend today—send a text, make a call, or schedule a coffee date. Even the smallest effort can brighten both of your days.

Friendship is one of life’s greatest joys. Make it a priority, and you’ll feel the difference in your happiness and well-being.
