How satisfied are you with the intimacy in your relationship? Are your needs being met? Or has the passion you once had with your partner become a low priority?

❤️ Intimacy is one of my core values. Whether in romantic relationships, friendships, or professional interactions, I love going deep with people and having real, meaningful conversations.

This approach even shapes my interactions at networking events where I strive to connect on a personal level, rather than skimming the surface.

Close friendships, where we talk about absolutely everything, form the bedrock of my personal life 😍

However, intimacy isn’t always easy to maintain, especially for busy women in tech. Many of my clients struggle to keep the flame alive in their relationships amidst demanding careers and young families.

This challenge resonates deeply with me as I faced similar issues during the five-year period when I was either pregnant or breastfeeding. During that time, my sex drive plummeted, and my love life suffered 💔 It was a difficult period, and I know many women go through similar experiences.

What can you do to improve your love life? I recently learned about Dr. Emily Morse’s five pillars of sexual health as a framework to navigate these challenges:

💬 Communication: open, honest conversations about needs, desires, and boundaries can bridge gaps and foster deeper understanding. I still struggle with this in my romantic relationships. Whether with a partner, friend, or colleague, transparent communication builds trust and closeness.

🤗 Connection: taking the time to genuinely connect with someone and to understand their thoughts and feelings. Even in professional settings, a deeper connection can lead to more meaningful collaborations and support networks.

🎨 Creativity: keeps relationships vibrant and exciting. This can be as simple as trying new activities together, exploring new ideas, or finding innovative ways to express love and appreciation. Keeping creativity alive prevents relationships from becoming monotonous.

🧘🏽 Embodiment: focuses on being present in your body and embracing physical sensations. For many busy women, especially those in tech, it’s easy to get caught up in the mental and digital world. Taking time to reconnect with your body through mindfulness, exercise, or simply paying attention to physical needs can enhance intimacy.

😍 Pleasure: prioritizing joy and satisfaction in intimate relationships. This isn’t limited to sexual pleasure but extends to finding joy in each other’s company, celebrating successes together, and supporting one another through challenges.

As a woman in tech, you juggle numerous responsibilities, which can make it challenging to maintain intimacy in your relationships. But intimacy is very important in maintaining your love connection and having more stability in your home life, so that you can spread your wings at work.

Embrace the power of intimacy, not just in your love life, but in every relationship you value.
