Sixteen years ago, I traveled to Europe with my ex-husband—London, Paris, and the Greek Islands.
Back then, I was a very different version of myself.
I leaned on him for everything—navigating new cities, talking to strangers, deciding where to go next. I was easily triggered, highly sensitive, and deeply unsure of myself.
🛩️ This month, I went back to London and Paris—but this time, as a solo mom with my two kids.
And it couldn’t have felt more different.
🚄 We navigated three train systems, different currencies, multiple languages, hotels, Airbnbs, and all kinds of curveballs (like a surprise monsoon in Paris that left us drenched but laughing) ☔
I let my kids take the lead sometimes. I stayed calm when plans changed. I saw myself through their eyes—capable, resourceful, present.
The biggest difference between then and now?
❤️ Self-compassion.
I’ve stopped beating myself up. I don’t expect perfection. I laugh at wrong turns, let myself rest, and ask for help when I need it.
And that’s the foundation of my definition of confidence:
💡 Confidence is your willingness to try, take action, and treat yourself with self-compassion when you fail.
It’s what I now teach—and what I want every woman in tech to experience.
One of my clients put it best:
“Working with Anna as my coach was truly transformative. She helped me connect my values to my strengths and recognize the unique skills I bring to the table, especially in moments when I doubted myself… She’s an incredible champion for women in tech.”
🎉 And I’ve got something exciting coming for you in September: The Women in Tech Rising Collective
A powerful new membership community to grow your confidence, rise as a leader, and surround yourself with like-minded women who truly get it.
👉 Join the waitlist and be the first to know when doors open.
Let’s rise, together.
Lots of love,
-Anna
